AIB Gallery: "Alessandra Sanguinetti: On the Sixth Day"

As with the Chernobyl invitation tried to choose images that were representative, but perhaps too, uh, graphic for the outside of a mailer. The work is extraordinary; the artist's talk sublime. I use her as an example all the time now — an artist who pursued what interested her and let medium and format and everything else change as the work progressed. These photos led to astonishing still and video portraits of two young women that could not be something prescribed in advance. Folded card mailer is default gallery format whenever possible. Poster version created to publicize the artist talk. No single image seemed appropriate for this.
