Interesting and Dull Shapes: O A K I V Y prints

Prints made from the etched stone tiles. Actually, made from the rubber stencils used by the gravestone etcher. The prints caused mirroring of the alphabetic forms. So in the installation, they needed to be viewed in the mirror to be "read". Interestingly, only the "K" is not bilaterally symmetrical, so all the other letterforms read perfectly in reverse. It's the words that need the mirroring. (Thanks to Annie Silverman and her beautiful printmaking studio.)
